The line chart illustrates the amount of people participating in four different types of physical activitiy activity in a certain region from 1985 to 2005. According to the data, while the number of people playing badminton and basketball remained quite stable over the time, the amount of tennis and rugby players fluctuated consistently, with rugby as the most practiced sport in 1985.
Just above 50 people played badminton in 1985, but this number fell slightly under 50, to around 48, by 1990. However, it moved back to about 50 players in 1995, and from that point on, the number was steady until 2005. Similarly, despite the amount of players being higher overall, basketball followed a very similar trend: starting from almost 100 people playing at the beginning of the period, they subtly decreased to around 75 in 1990. As well as for badminton, from that point on the number of people rose to less than 100 by 1995, remaining the same in 2000, but then it experienced a minor fluctuation to around 75 by the end of the period.
Tennis experienced a progressive increase over the period, starting from 150 players at the beginning, it rose to around 170 in 1990 and it reached 200 players in 1995. Then, it continued to grow to just above 200 in 2000, before peaking to around 230 by 2005. Although rugby had the higher highest number of players in 1985, almost 250, among the four sports considered, it experienced a downward trend overall. It decreased to almost 200 by 1990, before moving back to 200 in 1995, the same number as tennis. henceforth, it fell down to 150 in 2000, before a sharp decline to 50 by 2005.
