Candidate’s Response:

The maps illustrate the present industrial area of Norbiton town and the proposed development in the future.

Overall, the industrial area will observe drastic changes in its layout, ; namely, factories will be completely taken over by housing and amenities such as a school.

The current industrial area has a big roundabout in the centre that can be accessed from the road to its south. To this roundabout, there are three factories encircling it from south-west to the north. ~~The site eastern’s side~~ The site’s eastern side houses five factories, which can be reached via a lane. Across the northern part, farmland is present adjacent to a river.

The anticipated makeover will witness the addition of a small roundabout, by modifying the southern outlet, and joining the big roundabout. The big roundabout will also be transformed to accommodate two additional lanes. Factories on either side of the roundabout will be replaced by residential housing and other facilities like shops, a medical centre, and a playground. In the north, a T-shape road and a bridge will be constructed to access the housing on the farmland.

The maps illustrate the current layout of the Norbiton industrial area and the proposed future development of the site.

Overall, the area is set to undergo significant changes, with the existing industrial facilities being replaced by residential housing and amenities such as a school and shops.

At present, the industrial area features a large roundabout at its center, accessible from a main road to the south. Surrounding the roundabout, there are several factories, with three located to the southwest and the remaining five situated along the eastern side, connected by side roads. To the north of the area, farmland lies adjacent to a river.

The proposed redevelopment plan includes the construction of a smaller roundabout to the south, connecting to the existing one. Additionally, the large roundabout will be modified to incorporate two new roads. The factories will be replaced by residential housing, and various new facilities will be introduced, including shops, a medical center, and a playground. In the northern section, a T-shaped road will lead to a new bridge over the river, providing access to additional housing on the farmland.
