Candidate’s Response:

The maps illustrate the current state and the future development plans for an industrial area in the town of Norbiton. Currently, the area consists mainly of factories arranged around a central roundabout, with farmland located to the north beyond a river.

In the future development plan, significant changes are proposed. The central roundabout will remain, but it will be surrounded by housing instead of factories. The existing factories will be replaced by various facilities including a playground, a medical center, shops, and a school to the east. Additionally, the river will remain as a natural boundary, but new housing developments will extend across it.

Moreover, the area around the main roundabout will see the addition of more housing units, and the introduction of a playground suggests an emphasis on creating a more family-friendly environment. The establishment of a medical center and shops further indicates a shift from an industrial zone to a mixed-use development catering to residential needs.

Overall, the planned future development of Norbiton’s industrial area is focused on transforming the site into a residential neighborhood with various amenities to support the community.

The maps illustrate the current layout and the proposed future development of an industrial area in Norbiton. Presently, the area is characterized by several factories, which are predominantly clustered around a central roundabout, with farmland lying to the north of the river.
In the future development plan, there are substantial changes aimed at transforming the industrial zone into a residential neighborhood. The central roundabout will be retained, but it will now be surrounded by housing units instead of factories. The existing factories will give way to new housing developments, significantly expanding the residential area beyond the river, signifying a major shift in land use.
In addition to the housing developments, the future layout includes the introduction of essential community facilities. The area around the central roundabout will see the establishment of a playground, a medical center, shops, and a school, which is planned to be located to the east of the roundabout. These facilities indicate a clear emphasis on creating a family-friendly and self-sufficient neighborhood. The river will continue to serve as a natural boundary, but the development plans include the construction of a bridge to facilitate access to the new housing areas.
Overall, the planned redevelopment of Norbiton’s industrial area represents a comprehensive transformation from an industrial zone to a well-rounded residential community with various amenities to support its inhabitants.
