Candidate’s Response:

Recent progress in technology has brought some consequences including environmental problems. It is argued by some that a simpler lifestyle could help to control these problems. Although others believe that technology itself is the solution. I personally think that environmental problem is an urgent matter to address and simplifying people lifestyle is the fastest solution available.

On the one hand, there is this argument that human being is deeply stocked in consumerism culture and decreasing environmental issues can only be achieved by living simpler lives. According to a new study in United States, every person is consuming 6‐times an average person in previous century and produces an even larger scale of wastes. Such attitude leads to a huge invasion of nature to satisfy the need of modern human and to get rid of his wastes. Thus, if everyone lives a simpler life and manage his unnecessary needs, this will result in a cleaner and more stable environment.

On the other hand, some believe that technology itself can be the solution to all the problems human has made so far. Technology progress can help to bring clean sources of energy in hand and recycle most of our daily wastes. For instance, Tesla corporation is producing electricity using vehicles with zero air pollutions and water recycling systems are being employed all over India to decrease soil contamination with water wastes. These methods can massively decrease environmental damages and make earth a sustainable environment again.

All in all, technology can offer practical solutions for environmental problems in a long run, however, in the next few decades they will not be widely available and we need urgent solution for our current issues. I personally think that by controlling the culture of consumerism and living simpler lives, human can save time for technology to offer final solution for saving the environment.

Thank you indeed for writing this essay. The essay is successful in identifying the rubric’s main parts and addressing them. The majority of errors (also affecting coherence and cohesion) come from vocabulary and a little more towards grammar. The most prevalent one is “generalization”. To solve this, let’s read the lesson below:

The rapid development of technology has undeniably revolutionized our lives but has also ushered in a host of environmental challenges. There are two predominant schools of thought on how to address these issues: one advocating a return to simpler, more sustainable lifestyles, and the other promoting technology as the solution.
On the one hand, proponents of a simpler way of life argue that reducing our reliance on advanced technology is essential to alleviate environmental problems. They emphasize the need to consume fewer resources, reduce waste, and live in harmony with nature. Advocates of this view contend that simpler living not only reduces the strain on the environment but also leads to a more fulfilling and connected existence with nature.
On the other hand, there is a camp that believes technology is pivotal in mitigating environmental problems. They argue that innovative technologies can provide eco-friendly solutions to various challenges. For instance, renewable energy sources, advanced waste management systems, and efficient transportation technologies can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Moreover, technology can help monitor and combat environmental issues more effectively, from forest conservation to climate change mitigation.
In my opinion, a balanced approach is necessary. While embracing simpler lifestyles can reduce our impact on the environment, technology should not be demonized. Instead, we should harness its potential to develop sustainable solutions. This fusion of simple living and technology-driven innovations can lead to a more harmonious relationship between humans and their environment. To resolve environmental problems effectively, we must strike a careful balance between the two viewpoints, adopting the best of both worlds.
