Candidate’s Response:

A recent study by entertainment agency suggested that more than 60% of people prefer reading crime novels or TV crime drums . Nowadays , crime novels and crime dramas on TV are gaining increased popularity in many countries . In this essay , I will discuss the reasons behind the popularity of the crime novels and TV shows besides my opinion of them .

First and foremost , I believe that the publishers of the crime books and TV shows are running advertisement compaigns to increase the reach of their materials . For instance , it is not unusual to see a recommendation for a crime novel while you are surfing the web or reading your mail . Surprisingly , the recommendation ads are smart enough to suggest a crime novel that it is written with the same language as of the targeted customer’s language . likewise , streaming platforms , such as Netflix , suggest crime TV shows to the customers even if they are not interested in crime dramas . They will recommend crime shows that involve the customer’s favourite actor to increase the chances of the customer watching that show .

Also , in my opinion , people tend to read crime novels and watch crime dramas because these materials include new concepts and ideas . Crimes are not popular among many communities world-wide . Therefore , reading or watching crime materials will fulfill many sides in people’s minds .

I personally do not like or support reading crime novels and watching crime dramas because of the message they carry . For instance , in many novels , they represent the criminal as a kind person which might influence others to commit crimes . Similarly , in crime dramas , they usually promote th criminals as brave people which is not true in my opinion .

To recapitulate , the publishers of crime novels and TV shows play a major role on making those materials popular . Also , people tend to read and watch crime dramas to fulfill some aspects inside them . I do not like crime works because the carry misleading messages .

The essay is well-structured, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. There's a logical flow between paragraphs, and ideas are presented in a cohesive manner.

A good range of vocabulary is used, and some words and expressions contribute to the overall quality. There are some awkward phrases, such as "advertising compaigns" (campaigns) and "new concepts and ideas" (repetitive).

The essay demonstrates control over basic grammar. Sentence structures are generally clear but could be more varied for greater complexity.

The response effectively fulfills the requirements of the prompt, providing reasons for the popularity of crime novels and TV crime dramas. Improvements can be made in grammatical accuracy and the use of more varied expressions. Consider refining sentence structures for greater clarity. Overall, it's a solid response.

A couple of paragraphs need improvement in their sentence-roles. A healthy paragraph does not need an example as a sentence, coming right after the topic sentence.

The surge in popularity of crime novels and TV crime dramas in numerous countries reflects a widespread fascination with this genre. Several factors contribute to their popularity, chief among them being the human intrigue with mystery, suspense, and the exploration of the human psyche.
Crime narratives often captivate audiences by offering thrilling and intricate plots, engaging characters, and the suspenseful unraveling of mysteries. This genre provides an escape into a world of puzzles, investigation, and often unpredictable outcomes, which allure individuals seeking entertainment and mental stimulation. Moreover, these stories frequently delve into the psychological aspects of criminal behavior, prompting curiosity about the darker aspects of human nature.
Personally, I find crime fiction and TV crime dramas intriguing due to their ability to engage the mind and offer multifaceted storytelling. The genre not only entertains but also challenges conventional thinking by exploring complex moral dilemmas and societal issues. Additionally, it can spark interest in forensic science, law enforcement procedures, and human psychology, fostering curiosity and sometimes even inspiring career pursuits.
However, despite their entertainment value, an overconsumption of crime fiction can desensitize individuals to violence or glorify criminal behavior, potentially influencing perceptions negatively. Moderation and critical viewing are essential to appreciate the genre's entertainment without undermining its potential drawbacks.
In conclusion, the popularity of crime fiction and TV crime dramas can be attributed to their engaging storytelling, the allure of mystery, and the exploration of human psychology. While personally engaging and intellectually stimulating, a balanced approach is crucial to appreciate their merits while remaining mindful of their potential impact on perceptions.
