Candidate’s Response:

An increasing popularity of e-books on the global market negatively affects a production rate of paper books. Some people consider that this trend is a positive movement towards future, while others feel that it would have a knock-off effect on people’s reading interest. In my opinion, the benefits of the electronic books offer to readers certainly outweigh the drawbacks.

There is little room for doubt that e-books obviously provide a number of advantages for people which influence readers to obtain them. One evident benefit of e-books is that they allow people to keep as many books as they need without having a necessity of having physical storages to keep them. In addition, today’s availability of mobile electronic devices, such as e-readers, smartphones, and tablets, brings possibility for people to enjoy pleasure of reading any book they want at any convenient time. Lastly, some editions of electronic books offer possibility for readers to make notes and define unknown words and phrases electronically. Thus, contemporary e-books have a huge number of valuable options which make them preferable among people from all over the world.

On the other hand, there are a number of disadvantages that this books bring to a reading community. Firstly, they would have a negative effect on people, especially young people, by discouraging them from reading which eventually cause people to lose reading ability. In other words, most e-books are not provided with pictures compared to their paper editions, which a fundamental prerequisite for attracting children to read. Secondly, some of the cutting-edge books are provided with audio texts which turn most people into listen to them rather than reading. This option would prevent people from reading and entice them to listen to only more interesting parts of an e-book. Hence, electronic versions of books followed by specific options could repel readers’ interest from reading.

In conclusion, while e-books by providing a significant number of convenient features for readers would certainly grow in popularity, their negative aspects affecting people’s reading skill and reducing interest in reading should be taken into consideration.

The 6.5 sample upgraded to 7.0+

The emergence of e-books has triggered a decline in the popularity of traditional paper books, evoking contrasting opinions regarding its consequences. This trend brings forth both advantages and disadvantages.
One of the primary advantages of e-books is their accessibility and convenience. E-books offer instantaneous access to a vast array of literature, allowing readers to carry an entire library in a single device. Additionally, they provide adjustable font sizes and multimedia features that cater to diverse reading preferences, benefiting individuals with visual impairments or specific learning needs.
Moreover, e-books contribute to environmental conservation by reducing paper consumption, which aligns with sustainable practices and helps in preserving natural resources. The digital format also enables cost-effectiveness by eliminating printing and distribution expenses, making books more affordable and accessible, particularly in regions with limited access to physical libraries.
However, the shift towards e-books presents drawbacks. One notable disadvantage is the potential loss of the sensory experience that traditional paper books offer. The tactile sensation of flipping through pages, the distinct scent of paper, and the aesthetic appeal of a physical bookshelf may be absent in the digital reading experience.
Furthermore, reliance on electronic devices for reading can lead to issues related to eye strain, screen addiction, and potential distractions from other digital content. Additionally, disparities in access to technology and digital literacy may exclude certain demographics from enjoying the benefits of e-books.
In conclusion, the rise of e-books brings advantages such as accessibility and environmental sustainability, but it also poses challenges concerning the sensory experience of traditional books and potential drawbacks related to technology reliance and access disparities. Balancing these aspects is crucial to harness the benefits while mitigating the limitations of this evolving trend in reading habits.
