Candidate’s Response:

It is believed by some that in order to have more pleasure from a hobby, it should be not easy in some cases. I completely agree with this statement as a hobby might become tedious as it appears too easy to stick to it.

There is little room for doubt that there are various types of hobbies and each of them have its own level of difficulty. In other words, most hobbies could include not only collecting specific items but also physical activities, such as hiking or swimming, or implementation of an intellectual activity such as language learning or mental calculation which could certainly turn into tediousness if their difficulty remains the same. In addition, hobbies, Consequently, without a difficulty rising, hobbies might become a chore for people.

Another point to consider is that by competing with each other with constantly leveling up a challenging aspects, encouraged people fuel up their interest in specific activity. By having rivals, who constantly endeavour to get even with their hobby mates, people will develop a clearer understanding of their current level of skill and interest, which often change with the passing of time. A typical example of this would be when people arrange specific international competitions, such as retro car exhibitions, language quizzes, and checkmate tournaments, in order to present their collections and check their mental abilities. Hence, by challenging and rising up their levels people would certainly increase their interest in hobbies.

In conclusion, while some groups of hobbies are considered to be enjoyable, by staying on the same level of difficulty, without leveling up their challenging factors and participating in competitions, these hobbies would turn into unattractive and boring activities.

The question of whether a hobby must possess a level of difficulty to be enjoyable sparks varied opinions. In my perspective, the primary purpose of engaging in hobbies is to derive pleasure, and while challenges can add depth, they should not overshadow the fundamental enjoyment of the activity.
The essence of a hobby lies in the joy it brings to individuals, offering a reprieve from the demands of daily life. Hobbies are personal pursuits, and their appeal often hinges on the sense of fulfillment and relaxation they provide. Therefore, the notion that a hobby must be challenging to be enjoyable seems to overlook the diverse reasons people engage in recreational activities.
A crucial aspect of this perspective is acknowledging the wide spectrum of hobbies, ranging from simple and meditative to complex and demanding. Some individuals find solace in activities like reading, gardening, or painting, where the primary allure is the tranquility and creativity they offer. Forcing a level of difficulty onto such hobbies may compromise the very essence that makes them enjoyable for many.
Furthermore, overly challenging hobbies can potentially deter individuals from exploring new activities. The pressure to excel in a difficult pursuit may lead to frustration and diminish the intrinsic pleasure associated with discovering and embracing a new hobby. In this way, the insistence on difficulty as a prerequisite for enjoyment might inadvertently limit the variety of activities people are willing to try.
While challenges can certainly enhance certain hobbies, they should be viewed as optional elements rather than mandatory prerequisites. Engaging in a hobby should be a personal choice guided by individual preferences and the desire for enjoyment. The freedom to choose activities that align with personal interests and bring joy is paramount in fostering a positive and fulfilling leisure experience.
In conclusion, the idea that a hobby needs to be difficult to be enjoyable is a subjective perspective. While challenges can add a layer of interest to some pursuits, the core purpose of hobbies should remain rooted in individual enjoyment. Recognizing the diversity of preferences and the broad spectrum of activities allows for a more inclusive understanding of what constitutes an enjoyable hobby.
