IELTS Writing Task 1 letter sample 2974 – Band 7.0

General Training IELTS Writing Task 1 - Letter

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You share a parking area with several neighbours and have recently started having problems.
Write a letter to be copied to all neighbours that share the parking area. In that letter:
  • explain the problems
  • suggest ways to help the situation
  • propose a possible meeting
  • Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

    Begin your letter as follows:

    Candidate’s Response:

    Dear Neighbors,

I hope you and your esteemed families are all well. I am writing this to voice my concern about children playing in the parking space recently. Not only is playing in this area unsafe for our children, but it will also cause trouble for all the residents since they have to be really cautions while parking. In addition, I often face bicycles left on the main pass way that cause me trouble while exiting the parking.

I have some suggestions that can build a ground for an agreement among all the residents. Foremost, I feel like a playground is essential for the children to play in, and thus I suggest to renovate the backyard, so the children can have a safe place to play in. In addition, it seems like we need to consider a dedicated place for parking the bicycles.

As I am sure that you all appreciate that shared parking needs more discipline, I propose that we gather together to discuss these ideas and brainstorm further to reach a consensus that benefits us all. I suggest to have this meeting on Sunday at 9 PM, as I think most residents are available in this time.

Looking forward to your response and possible ideas.

    Best regards,

    Dear Neighbors,
I hope you and your esteemed families are all well. I am writing this to voice my concern about children playing in the parking space recently. Not only is playing in this area unsafe for our children, but it will also cause trouble for all the residents since they have to be really cautious while parking. In addition, I often face bicycles left on the main pathway, which causes me trouble while exiting the parking.
I have some suggestions for building grounds that all the residents can agree on. First, I believe a playground is essential for the children to play in, so I suggest we renovate the backyard so that the children can have a safe place to play. In addition, we need to consider a dedicated place for parking the bicycles. I can talk to a friend of mine who is a welder to build us one right behind the main gate.
I am sure that you all appreciate that shared parking needs more discipline. I propose that we gather together to discuss these ideas and brainstorm further to reach a consensus that benefits us all. I suggest having this meeting on Sunday at 9 PM, as I think most residents are available at this time.
I look forward to your cooperation and participation in resolving these parking issues for the betterment of our community.
    Sincerely,
