IELTS and Immigration
If you’re an emegrant, you need IELTS
Even native English speakers need an English language qualification to emigrate to some English-speaking countries.
You will need to check the IELTS scores for immigration needed in the country of your choice before you book your IELTS test.
Australia
To prove that you have competent English before moving to Australia, you need to have achieved a score of at least 6 for each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) of the IELTS exam that has been undertaken in the three years immediately prior to lodging the visa application.
Canada
You must prove your language skills by taking a language test approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). You must take the “General Training” type of IELTS. Read more…
New Zealand
There is no set requirement on what type of IELTS test you need to sit for emigrating to New Zealand. You can sit either the Academic IELTS or the General IELTS test as both types are accepted by the Immigration New Zealand.
United Kingdom
On 29 November 2010 the Immigration Rules were changed to introduce a new English Language requirement for applicants applying to enter or remain in the UK. Read more…
