Find your writing mistakes before IELTS does
How to proofread your writing?
You are in an IELTS exam; your time is running out; you’ve just noticed an error in your writing; there is not enough time to rewrite the whole sentence or there is not enough space to do so. Is there a way to correct it faster? Yes! Here are six symbols you can use to proofread your writing.
1. Insert Word(s) or Letter(s)
Use this symbol to add any words you have left out. Remember! Write the missing word or letter on top of this symbol.
2. Delete
Use this line to show that you deleted this word from your writing.
3. New Paragraph
Don’t worry when you realize that you joined two paragraphs by mistake. Just draw this symbol where you believe is the start of the second paragraph.
4. Insert Space
If you write two words really close to each other, that might make the examiner think that you do not know these words are separated. Add this symbol to avoid confusion.
5. Delete Space
This symbol closes any unnecessary gaps that may happen when you are busy writing. It is very effective because it simply joins two words.
6. Transpose
This symbol can be used when you want to switch places of two words or groups of words. Be careful! the symbol is like a reversed “S”.
