Candidate’s Response:

In some developing countries the quality of life has been diminished, especially in metropolitan cities. There are many reasons for this issue. In this essay, we will mention some of these reasons and possible solutions for solving this problem.

The low quality of life depends on many factors. One of the most important factors is air pollution. This problem is because of using fossil fuels in transportation systems in large cities. For example, in Tehran, which is the most pollution city in Iran, there are more than 3 million cars, which all of them consume fossil fuels. Therefore, every day, these vehicles emit a huge volume of harmful gases and contaminated particles in the environment, which is the main reason of air pollution in this city. Alongside the environmental pollution, mental stress is another reason for this issue. The pace of life in large cities have made a stressful situation for people. To illustrate, using some technologies such as mobile communication has obliged people to overwork, even when they are at home. In this way, lack of time and entertainment would be the result of this phenomenon.

Nevertheless, there are many potential solutions to tackle this problem. One of these effective ways can be developing public transportation to reduce gas emission and make a convenient commute for people. In this way, people will be encouraged to use public systems rather than private cars. For example, in Tokyo, which was one of the most pollution city in the world, authorities have solved this problem by establishing electrical trains in this city. The second remedy is reducing stress among people. Based on the experiences of other countries, it seems providing entertainment programs is the best method to gain happiness among residents. For instance, the government of Finland, have supported this idea by providing free concerts for people. As a result, residents in this country are the happiest people around the world.

In conclusion, although many factors are involved in the low quality of life in large cities, alternative solutions are available to overcome this problem, and this issue needs to be noticed.

The declining quality of life in major cities of certain countries is a pressing issue that demands attention and analysis. Several factors contribute to this phenomenon, including overpopulation, inadequate infrastructure, environmental degradation, and socioeconomic disparities.
One prominent reason for the decline in quality of life is overpopulation. Rapid urbanization leads to overcrowding, placing immense strain on resources such as housing, transportation, and sanitation facilities. This overcrowding exacerbates traffic congestion, pollution, and housing shortages, resulting in a deteriorating living environment for city residents.
Moreover, inadequate infrastructure fails to keep pace with the rapid urban growth, further exacerbating the decline in quality of life. Insufficient public transportation systems, inadequate healthcare facilities, and deficient waste management systems contribute to congestion, pollution, and health hazards, diminishing the overall well-being of city dwellers.
Environmental degradation is another significant factor contributing to the decline in quality of life in larger cities. Pollution from vehicular emissions, industrial activities, and improper waste disposal not only poses health risks but also degrades the natural environment, leading to reduced air and water quality, loss of green spaces, and exacerbation of climate change impacts.
To address the declining quality of life in larger cities, various measures can be implemented. Firstly, urban planning should prioritize sustainable development strategies that promote efficient land use, adequate infrastructure, and environmental conservation. Investing in public transportation, green infrastructure, and renewable energy sources can help alleviate congestion and reduce pollution.
Furthermore, addressing socioeconomic inequalities through inclusive policies, affordable housing initiatives, and equitable access to education and healthcare can enhance the well-being of all city residents. Encouraging community engagement and participation in decision-making processes can also foster a sense of ownership and collective responsibility for improving urban living conditions.
In conclusion, the decline in quality of life in larger cities stems from a complex interplay of factors, including overpopulation, inadequate infrastructure, environmental degradation, and socioeconomic disparities. Addressing these challenges requires holistic approaches that prioritize sustainable development, environmental conservation, and social equity to create livable and vibrant urban environments for all residents.
