    Candidate’s Response:

     Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my concern regarding missing my international flight with your airline. I was a passenger at the Air Canada, and I was planning to fly from Toronto to Malaysia to participate in a global conference.

I arrived at the Pearson Airport three hours before my departure. While I checked in and got my boarding pass, the monitors which were showing the information of all flights stopped working. My colleagues and I did not notice any changes and we remained on our seats and waited for the airport receptionists to call the passengers for the flight. I’m afraid that nobody called us.

I missed not only my flight but also my biggest adventure of participating in the conference. I was planning to present a lecture about issues-related humanities in front on 1000 audiences. I tried so hard for this conference and I was engaged in meeting prominent professors from well-known universities.

I would like to ask you humbly to fully refund or at least receiving 50% of the cost of my flight as the airport is responsible for this circumstance.

I vigorously looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Yours faithfully,

    Assessor’s Comment

Thank you indeed for writing this letter. Let’s imagine this is a real letter to Air Canada. Immediately two things become important 1- The letter lacks common details, like the flight number, the gate number, date, or even mentioning that the boarding pass is enclosed. 2- The suggestions are not logical; if a company can recompense you for only 50%, then they will not give a full refund, do they? The alternative suggestion could be free vouchers, business or first-class seats, guaranteed window seats for future flights, etc.

    Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing this letter to express my frustration and disappointment about the recent incident that happened at your airline. On the 16th of April, I was scheduled to board an international flight from London to New York at 11:30 AM. Unfortunately, I missed my flight due to a problem at the airport.
The problem occurred when I was at the security checkpoint. There was a long queue, and the officers were taking an unusually long time to check each passenger. By the time it was my turn, it was already 11:10 AM, and I had only 20 minutes left for boarding the flight. Despite my repeated requests, the officers did not expedite the process, and I eventually missed my flight.
As a result of missing my flight, I suffered a considerable amount of inconvenience and financial loss. I had to reschedule my business meeting and pay for a new ticket for the next available flight. The missed flight also caused me mental stress and anxiety, which negatively impacted my work.
I kindly request your airline to compensate me for the financial loss I incurred due to the missed flight. I would also appreciate it if the airline could provide some assurance that such incidents will not happen again in the future. I hope to receive a positive response from your airline soon.
I hope to receive a positive response from your airline soon.
    Regards
I hope to receive a positive response from your airline soon. Yours sincerely, [Your Name]
